Whether we met in Svalbard, Norway or conferences, you shared your enthusiasm and your fun for work and the outdoor. You had such a chill brillant attitude cruising through the joy and hinders from fieldwork, work and life. You left a legacy with the AGF212 course that was hard to take over in 2020 matching your excellent course and your pedagogy. Jakob and I were remembering you while doing the course yearly trip to Tellbreen! You had a sense for new technologies as well and your innovative work on IoT/weather stations left a legacy that years later we tried to reproduce. You also liked to take up challenges like boring Kongsvegen in Ny Ålesund. What a job, it was and you did it! I remember April 2018 when I joined you, Adrian, Brittany and Philip to experience drilling after a full day on Kongsvegen. You finished it in the early next morning, and my memory is marked with this pure mental drive, you showed then. Carefully packaging the equipment while everyone being exhausted, cold and knowing that a small mistake can cost us dearily but moving on until everyone is safe home. That driving home at 6 in the "polar night" morning to reach Ny Ålesund was special. Life is unfair, your future was bright and amazing, but you left great memories and kindness that will be deeply missed. Thank you for everything Chris.

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful memories and thank you for your kindness that night when you came all the way from Ny Alesund to bring us new supplies of food and hot water!! Such an incredibly kind thing to do and you have no idea how well received those supplies were during that longest of working days/night!!!
Thank you for sharing this memory.
