Abbey, Stacey & Chris
In July we celebrated our parents 50th wedding anniversary in Fort Collins. Chris and Abbey were home for a few weeks, the whole family was together.
We followed that weekend with a family trip to Frisco, CO. Our parents owned a time share house in Frisco when we were growing up and it was nice to be back there together. We had a fun week taking lots of bike rides, we went out on the lake, we cooked and watched movies and ate homemade ice cream.
One day I went on a bike ride with Chris - just he and I. He loved being on a bike, it freed him from his troubles and pain for a while. He pointed out things along the way as we rode - mountain peaks, avalanche scars, the patterns of the trees or an incoming weather pattern. It was really great seeing him step back into his old self, in awe of nature, seeing beauty everywhere and always wanting to share some nerdy tid bit about this or that. The past three years were so so challenging with his recovery that these escapes from reality were very special. I am grateful for the time we had this summer and whenever I look toward the mountains I will think of my brother.

Brilliant set of photos Stacey. I especially love the first one of the three of you. He could nerd-out about mountains and ice like no one else. ❤️❤️
